The prior owner was heading for foreclosure, and we offered a second-chance for the property. Like all units in this condo complex, the kitchen was tiny, dark and connected to a likewise tiny and dark dining area. After acquiring condo board approvals, we re-engineered the second floor to allow removal of walls between kitchen, dining and living areas. This change allowed up to create a large kitchen island with seating, ample kitchen work space, trendy cement-look backsplash tile and brushed brass hardware throughout. All doors, hardware and flooring was replaced. The bathrooms were also updated. The existing wood-burning received a makeover with Arabesque tile and re-claimed lumber mantle shelf.
